Ken and Kate, long time friends and former guests, are now resident hosts! After decades of adventurous work and travel across the country and abroad, they have chosen to settle in Kanab, along with their adorable frenchie pups Dink and Gigi. They love 'living in the picturesque high desert, waking up to the the majestic red rocks and sleeping under the star filled canopy above that commune so harmoniously with Dark Sky’s mission'.

 

Ken, a retired combat marine and athletic director/trainer lends his talents and skills as master woodworker and artisan to create the uniquely simple but elegant structures and amenities. Kate, a retired teacher and specialty caregiver serves as a hospitality host on Thursday for our Socials and assists in maintaining the high quality standards of the facilities that our guests come to expect. 

 

We are overjoyed and honored to welcome our dear friends to Dark Sky. They bring with them not only a wealth of knowledge but also an incredible sense of warmth and family.

Christy and Andy bring extensive experience in the customer service industry. Christy excelled as a Manager at Publix Supermarkets, while Andy’s time at Coca-Cola showcased his strong problem-solving and people skills.

In 2022, they embraced the full-time RV lifestyle, selling their Florida home to pursue new adventures on the road. Their diverse talents and passion for connecting with people have become invaluable to our team, helping to create memorable experiences for everyone.

Christy is also a talented cook, and while here she launched Camper Girl Jams, homemade jams, salsas and BBQ sauces which you can find in our Market. 

​

They are the proud parents of four adult children and new grandparents to the most adorable little bundle of joy! They live in their A Class with their awesome Husky, Sonya, who spreads her love to every guest she greets.

Clea found us in 2023 and made Dark Sky her permanent home. She is incredibly sweet and loves people, especially kids. Free to roam the grounds, Clea enjoys welcoming our newest arrivals. Though she has a home at the Terrace with food and water, she prefers the generosity of our campers for meals and sleeping arrangements. It’s not uncommon to see her emerging from campers in the morning after a sleepover, or after an afternoon nap. 

 

Clea wins everyones' hearts, often receiving the most shout-outs in our reviews and our guest book. We appreciate our guests for helping us keep her safe and very loved!
