BEE Registration for Computer (Laptop/Notebook) includes both notebooks and laptops, but not PCs mounted on desktops or comparable storage and server equipment. BEE Registration for Computer (Laptop/Notebook) is obligatory, therefore computer producer’s manufacture, cannot sell, distribute, export, or import items without acquiring registration under the BEE. A computer manufacturer must meet certain conditions before a device can be recognized by her BEE. A foreign manufacturer must designate a company officer working and residing in India, or an Indian business entity as her AIR or authorized Indian representative.
